We are excited to announce the 5th Annual Choose Art Benefit Performance! SAVE THE DATE for wonderful entertainment with a deeper meaning that features student visual and performing artists. These young artists CHOOSE ART to empower themselves and their community-something to celebrate and support!

A silent auction featuring visual art created by students begins at 6pm when the doors open, and the performance begins at 7pm. The performance includes the Academy of Dance Arts Company and local student performers, musicians, and singers. This year we are excited to have Gordy Pratt and Dalyce Sellers join us to both perform and emcee the event.

Tickets are $22.50 for adults and $10 for students. Purchase them through the Performing Arts Center of Rapid City's Box office online (http://performingartsrc.org/box-office/), or by phone: 394.1786

This is "Looking Forward" and it was created by Molly McKeehan, a homeschool student in Rapid City. Molly's painting and several others will be featured in of the 5th Annual Choose Art Addiction: Reframed Youth Performance on Saturday at the Performing Arts Center of Rapid City (the PAC). 

"Looking Forward" is also part of this year's Choose Art Silent Auction and will be sold to the highest bidder at the performance. If you'd like to attend, contact the PAC Box Office. (

Our Executive Director, GiGi Lage, received the Executive Proclamation from Mayor Steve Allender stating...
“WHEREAS, the Allied Arts Fund has become a leader in providing small development grants and fiscal sponsorships for arts projects for children, Native Americans, senior citizens and under- served populations, and is the designated administrative agency for the distribution of Cultural City Investment Funds, from the City of Rapid City. NOW, therefore, I, Steve Allender, Mayor of Rapid City, do hereby proclaim the month of March, 2019 as March for the Arts in Rapid City and urge all Rapid City residents to participate in and support the arts by giving generously to the Allied Arts Fund.” Thank you Mayor Allender, our distinguished City Council and our great City for your support of the Arts!

AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF RAPID CITY AND THE ALLIED ARTS FUND 
            This Agreement is made by and between the CITY OF RAPID CITY, and the ALLIED ARTS FUND,
 WHEREAS, AAF has served as a united funding agency for the arts in Rapid City; 
            WHEREAS, the City is committed to funding the arts in Rapid City;
WHEREAS, AAF has the necessary expertise to help administer City funding for the arts;
WHEREAS, the City has appointed AAF to perform the services provided.

 Join us as we celebrate the 12th Anniversary of the “Sculpture in the Hills Show and Sale”,
June 21-23, 2019! 
Last year we entertained visitors from 20 different states and a few foreign countries who loved the intimate size of the Show and the chance to meet and talk with the 23 participating artists about their work.  We hope you will come and experience summer in the Black Hills, and take this opportunity to showcase and sell your art.

Ilya Yakushev is a Russian pianist who is a well-known Yamaha Artist. He trained under his talented Vladimir Felysman and has been mystifying audiences around the world since the young age of 12.

St. Petersburg Piano Quartet

The St. Petersburg Piano Quartet was founded in 2014 and made its New York City debut with two successful concerts on the popular Barge Music Series. Since then, they have performed at the Da Camera Society in Los Angeles, Music Mountain and the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, Florida to name a few.

After spying on their wives at a “Girls’ Night Out” that involves male strippers, a group of unemployed steelworkers from Buffalo hatch an unflinching, unclothed scheme to make some quick cash. Based on the 1997 British film, The Full Monty strips six men bare, exposing their fear, self-consciousness and prejudices, pushing them to “let it go.”

Shostakovich’s epic 5th Symphony. 1937 Russia—during the height of the Stalinist purges. The Communist Party denounces Dmitri Shostakovich’s most recent works. Fearing for his life, the young composer writes a “Soviet” symphony, ending with a rousing march. But to many, the triumph rang hollow. Was the symphony meant to celebrate Stalin’s regime? Or did it contain hidden messages protesting the very system it seemed to support?

Masters of Soul is a celebration of the legendary songs and performers that defined Motown and soul music. This 90-minute show features stylishly costumed, fully choreographed performances of both male and female groups backed by a live band. We have partnered with the South Dakota Community Foundation to manage our Endowment through their Nonprofit Savings Account Challenge Grant. They will award the AAF $20,000 if we raise $80,000, for a total of $100,000 for our organizations.
