A single day, based on France’s “Fete de la Musique”, where tens of thousands of musicians in every genre — amateur songwriters, professional mariachis, jazz combos, MCs, you name it — come out to perform on streets, sidewalks, and parks in 35 cities around the country (and over 700 cities around the world).
This year, we’re excited to say that Make Music is coming back (it was just written up in the Associated Press and in Rolling Stone), and that Make Music Black Hills is launching for the first time!
Allied Arts is taking the lead and a number of NAMM members will be involved in Rapid City, too: Yamaha (via the Clavinova brand), Hohner harmonicas, and Alfred Music Publishing have all committed to offering free lessons, instrument giveaways, and creative projects to encourage people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to make music.
